[Shift #3] From Holding On to Letting Go

Hi Reader,

Picture this: you’re standing at the edge of a dark forest with a small flashlight in your hand.

You can’t see the destination. You can’t even see most of the path.
But that little beam of light does show you the next few steps. That’s enough to start walking.

That is what aligned action looks like in a life transition.

When everything feels uncertain, our instinct is to wait for complete clarity before we move. Once I know where this is going, I’ll act.
Once I feel peace, I’ll decide.
Once I have confidence, I’ll begin.

That’s where our third shift comes in when we face major life transitions:

Shift #3: From Uncertainty to Aligned

Clarity rarely comes before we move.

Clarity is something we build by taking aligned, courageous steps forward.

The problem is we don’t usually wait quietly.
We wait anxiously. We analyze. We second guess.
We distract ourselves. We retreat or rush ahead.

Here’s where the Enneagram becomes such a gift:

Each Enneagram type has a predictable way of avoiding action or overdoing it.

  • Some freeze in indecision.
  • Some hustle faster to outrun discomfort.
  • Some stay busy but never move forward.

The patterns are predictable, which means they are interruptible.

Why is this so important?

Because without taking aligned action, we end up stuck in a loop.

We spin in indecision. We lose trust in ourselves and sometimes even in God.
We start doubting our own intuition. We forget what forward movement even feels like.

Aligned action isn’t about knowing the whole plan.

  • It’s about learning to listen for what is truly life-giving.
  • It’s about following the subtle thread of peace, not the loud voice of pressure.
  • It’s about choosing the next right step, even when you can’t see miles ahead.

So, how do we actually do that?

In Module 6 of Brave Becoming, we focus on Taking Aligned Action.
Not forceful action, not rushed action, but aligned action.

We explore why your specific personality type often resists or overdoes action.
So you can recognize it when it happens, name it without shame, and begin to act in alignment with your values rather than your fears.

Together, we’ll

  • Identify next steps that are aligned with your deeper self, not just your fear or habits.
  • Establish sustainable rhythms that keep you anchored even after the transition ends
  • Learn to build trust, confidence, and momentum one ordinary choice at a time

Remember: You don’t need to light up the whole forest.
You just need enough light to take the next aligned step.

Hi Reader, Have you ever seen a garden that looked full and thriving... until you looked a little closer? Last summer, my daughter planted strawberries and tomatoes in our little garden box. But the tomato plants completely took over. Thick vines spread everywhere, swallowing up all the space. At first it looked lush, even impressive. But when I lifted the leaves, I realized the strawberry plants were completely smothered. They never had a chance to grow because there was simply no room left....
